چکیده
Species-specific computer models of the heart are a novel powerful tool in studies life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. Here, we develop such model aimed at studying infarction injury rat heart, most common experimental system to investigate effects myocardial damage. We updated Gattoni2016 cellular ionic by fitting its parameters data using population modeling approach. Using four selected models, studied 2D spiral wave dynamics and found that they include meandering break-up. Then, an anatomically realistic ventricular geometry fiber orientation built with post-infarction scar study electrophysiological A was simulated as inexcitable obstacle surrounded border zone modified cardiomyocyte properties. For rotation scroll waves that, depending on model, can observe different types dynamics: anchoring, self-termination or stable wave. The observed arrhythmia characteristics coincide those measured experiment. developed be used hearts damage from ischemia reperfusion examine possible arrhythmogenic various interventions.

Preconditioning effects of oxytocin in reducing cardiac arrhythmias in a rat heart regional ischemia-reperfusion model
Abstract Introduction: Occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias and myocardial infarction are two main deleterious events that are caused by ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury in the heart. Cardiac preconditioning represents the most potent method of rescuing heart tissue from undergoing irreversible ischemic damage. The aim of the present study was to evaluate oxytocin (OT) cardioprotective effect...
متن کاملCardiac arrhythmias during myocardial infarction.
A 58-year-old man, who had used cocaine and other illicit drugs in the past, had mild, intermittent exertional chest discomfort for 2 weeks followed by severe, prolonged chest pain, which began while he was dancing and was unrelieved by rest. An electrocardiogram recorded on arrival at the emergency department (Figure 1) showed acute inferoposterior myocardial infarction with some features of r...
متن کاملElectromechanical model of excitable tissue to study reentrant cardiac arrhythmias.
We introduce the concept of a contracting excitable medium that is capable of conducting non-linear waves of excitation that in turn initiate contraction. Furthermore, these kinematic deformations have a feedback effect on the excitation properties of the medium. Electrical characteristics resemble basic models of cardiac excitation that have been used to successfully study mechanisms of reentr...
متن کاملReentry in an Anatomical Model of the Human Ventricles
We study wave propagation in a recently developed model, which reproduces geometry and fiber orientation in the right and left ventricles of the human heart. The cardiac tissue is represented using the previously developed γ-ionic model for human ventricular tissue using a spatial resolution of 0.5mm. We simulate three dimensional reentrant behavior resulting from a single vortex located in the...
متن کاملEvaluation the Protective Role of Gallic Acid on Cardiac Arrhythmias Induced by Oxidative Stress in Rat Exposure to Particulate Matters
Introduction: Particulate matter (PM) increases the risk of heart disorders. Gallic acid (GA) with strong antioxidant properties has shown an effective role in reducing the complications of various diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effect of Gallic acid in preventing cardiac arrhythmias due to exposure to particulate matter. Methods: In this study, 40 rats were pla...
